54% dos brasileiros acreditam que Saúde Mental é maior problema de saúde

A pesquisa, elaborada pela Ipsos, empresa especialista em pesquisa de mercado e opinião pública, avaliou também o cenário brasileiro quanto às doenças que a população acredita que sejam os principais problemas de saúde no país. 54% das pessoas no Brasil acreditam que a saúde mental seja, hoje, o principal problema de saúde enfrentado pelos brasileiros. O estudo completo traz ainda as principais preocupações sobre a qualidade dos serviços de saúde, acesso a tratamentos, desafios de saúde pública e como a pandemia da Covid-19 deixou impactos no setor.

A pesquisa foi conduzida entre 26 de julho e 06 de agosto de 2024 com a participação de 23.667 adultos entre 18 e 74 anos de 31 países. Para países como Brasil, Chile, Colômbia e outros, a amostra representou uma parcela mais urbana e conectada da população. A margem de erro foi calculada com base no intervalo de credibilidade da Ipsos, com uma precisão de +/-3,5 pontos percentuais para amostras de 1.000 e +/-5,0 pontos percentuais para amostras de 500.

A Saúde Mental continua sendo a maior preocupação de saúde no mundo. Em média, 45% das pessoas entrevistadas nas nações pesquisadas consideram este tema como o maior problema de saúde em seus países. Esse número era de 27% em 2018. A crescente conscientização e preocupação com o bem-estar mental tem reforçado e impactado nesses resultados.

O câncer e a obesidade continuam a ser uma das principais preocupações, especialmente entre as gerações mais velhas, enquanto a obesidade também figura como o problema mais preocupante de diversos países. Menos da metade dos entrevistados acreditam que seu país oferece os mesmos cuidados para todos (41%), revelando uma percepção de desigualdade no acesso a serviços de saúde.

A pesquisa também revelou uma queda na qualidade percebida do sistema de saúde no mundo todo. Apenas 44% das pessoas classificaram a qualidade dos serviços como “boa”, uma queda significativa frente aos 53% de 2021, durante a pandemia de Covid-19. Em média, 64% dos entrevistados acreditam que seus sistemas de saúde estejam sobrecarregados.

Cenário brasileiro

Os brasileiros que participaram da pesquisa indicaram a Saúde Mental como principal problema de saúde enfrentado no país. Nos últimos anos, o índice de preocupação com Saúde Mental aumentou. Em 2018, apenas 18% citavam a saúde mental como o principal problema. O salto aconteceu durante a pandemia, quando o tema foi o mais citado por 40% dos entrevistados em 2021, 49% em 2022 e 52% no ano passado, atingindo um novo pico agora em 2023. No Brasil, o problema da saúde mental é também mais citado pelas mulheres, quando comparado às respostas dos homens (14 p.p a mais).

Além disso, os brasileiros também notam o crescimento do estresse como um problema enfrentado. Em 2022, 27% relataram que esse era um dos principais problemas na saúde do país. Esse número cresceu para 29% em 2023 e para 31% em 2024.

Por outro lado, o câncer, o abuso de drogas e a obesidade diminuíram seus índices de percepções como principais problemas de saúde enfrentados pelos brasileiros, embora ainda estejam entre os cinco principais com 34%, 32% e 18%, respectivamente.

“O debate sobre saúde mental nas empresas, na mídia e no dia a dia do brasileiro é um fator determinante para, hoje, ele ser reconhecido como o principal problema de saúde do país. Isso se deve muito, também, às campanhas que ganham força para as pessoas terem mais qualidade de vida e buscam mais formas de melhorar seu próprio bem-estar”, comenta Amanda Sousa, gerente de pesquisas de Healthcare na Ipsos no Brasil.

Quanto à qualidade dos serviços de saúde no Brasil, os entrevistados brasileiros são ainda mais críticos que a média global. Apenas 31% consideram “boa” a qualidade dos serviços de saúde no país – mesmo índice do ano passado. O número deixa o Brasil como o 6º país que pior avalia a qualidade dos serviços locais.

Já entre os principais desafios da saúde no país, 75% dos entrevistados citam que as filas de espera para marcar consultas são muito demoradas. Para 82% dos brasileiros, o acesso a serviços de saúde de qualidade é muito caro para a maioria das pessoas no país. O número deixa o Brasil como a segunda nação que mais concorda com esta afirmação, atrás apenas da Hungria (86%).
